Turkey will destroy 'terror army'

ankara - The Turkish president Erdogan has threatened that his country will nip a new 'terror army' in the bud. He is referring to an army force that, among other things, is to train the United States and to come under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The SDF is dominated by Kurdish fighters from northern Syria who call their own Unitary Defense Units (YPG) units. Erdogan regards the US-backed SDF as the YPG as an extension of the terrorist PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party).

The Washington-led coalition against the Sunni extremists of Islamic State (IS) is setting up a sort of border guards of 30,000 men. It must protect the areas that govern the coalition of the SDF in the north and northeast of Syria.
