Trump's former campaign manager keeps house arrest

World December 4, 2017 23:33

washington - The house arrest of Paul Manafort will not be lifted for the time being.

According to a prosecutor from the team of special researcher Robert Mueller, a request to do so must be rejected, because the former campaign manager of President Donald Trump was writing a positive opinion piece about his work at that time for a Ukrainian political party. He did so with a Russian co-author, who had relations with the national security services of Russia.

If the article had been published, Manafort would have violated the law. As long as the investigation into the possible Russian interference in the American presidential election lasts, he is not allowed to publicize this matter in public.
