washington - US President Trump accuses South African government of discriminating against Afrikaner ethnic minority, threatens to halt aid.

US President Accuses South Africa of Discrimination

President Trump alleges that the South African government discriminates against the Afrikaner ethnic minority. The US will cease aid until violent attacks on white minority farmers are stopped, and plans to resettle them as refugees.

Trump claims South Africa is 'seizing land' and mistreating certain groups. President Ramaphosa denies land grabs, stating the policy aims to redistribute ownership fairly due to past apartheid policies.

The new law allows the government to expropriate land for public interest with 'just and equitable' compensation, with exceptions for unused or speculative land. In 2023, the US provided about $440 million in aid to South Africa.
