Trump States No Intention to Fire Powell Despite Disagreements

President Donald Trump has stated that he has no intention of firing Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, despite his dissatisfaction with the central bank's pace of interest rate cuts.

Addressing reporters on Tuesday, Trump refuted claims of considering Powell's dismissal, emphasizing his desire for more proactive rate reductions.

Last Friday, Trump accused Powell of political bias for not lowering interest rates promptly, suggesting he could swiftly remove him from office. However, Trump later hinted that Powell might resign as Fed Chair. Powell, on the other hand, has affirmed his commitment to serving his full term until May 2026.
