US presidential candidate Donald Trump is returning to Butler, Pennsylvania for a campaign rally on October 5, at the exact location where he survived an attack three months ago.

The 78-year-old Trump was shot in the ear on July 13 in Butler. A man behind him was killed and two others were injured. The shooter was killed. Trump was taken to the ground by security guards, but when he got up, he defiantly raised his fist.

This will be Trump's first visit back to Butler. According to his team, he will pay tribute to the deceased man, the two injured individuals, and the officers and first responders on the scene. Above all, it will be a symbolic visit: 'President Trump's return to Butler embodies the American spirit. In America, we do not let monsters like that evil shooter have the last word.'

Following the attack, Trump's security announced that the former president would only speak outdoors behind bulletproof glass. It is unclear if this measure will be in place during the upcoming rally in Pennsylvania, a crucial swing state.
