Trump puts signature under tax law

World December 22, 2017 16:15

washington - US President Donald Trump signed the Friday under the biggest review of American tax law in thirty years. It is the first big win for Trump since he took office early this year.

The tax reforms reduce the burden on companies and especially on wealthier Americans.

The House of Representatives voted twice on the proposal last week and approved it. The proposal was voted for the second time after a procedural error called for a new vote. The US Senate agreed on Wednesday.

Trump had promised tax relief for middle-class Americans and companies during his election campaign last year. For example, corporation tax will go down from 35 percent to 21 percent. According to Trump, the relief of the tax burden on companies will result in much more work and higher incomes for the middle class.
