Former US President Donald Trump shared his positive impressions of the new Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, calling him a 'young, attractive man' with a strong background. The meeting took place during Trump's trip from Saudi Arabia to Qatar.

Al-Sharaa's Background

Al-Sharaa, a former leader of Jabhat al-Nusra, which was initially linked to al-Qaeda, played a significant role in the conflict in Syria. He spent five years in a US prison in Iraq and was once the target of a $10 million reward for his capture, which was later rescinded.
