Trump: Moore must acknowledge Alabama loss

World December 15, 2017 16:09

washington - US President Donald Trump has called on his Republican party colleague Roy Moore to admit his losses in the Senate election in the state of Alabama.

Moore had to make it against the Democrat Doug Jones with 48.4 against 49.9 percent of the votes.

Although there is still a small number of votes to be counted, it is impossible for Moore to win the elections. Moore refused to give up his losses so far, despite having scored over 1.5 percentage points lower than Jones.

'I would say to Moore, stop it,' Trump said to questions from reporters in the White House. After this election defeat, the Republicans still have only the minimum majority in the Senate of 51 against 49 seats.

Trump had expressed his support to Moore, but he proved to be a controversial candidate. He is accused by several women of sexual misconduct when they were still underage and he was already over 30 years old.
