washington - US President Donald Trump has Pat Cipollone in mind as successor to legal adviser Donald McGahn, who will soon leave the White House. The Washington Post writes this with a reference to two sources that are aware of the state of affairs.

Trump has spoken with Cipollone this week. He is now a partner of a law firm that has a good name in Washington through lawsuits relating to government institutions, including in the areas of healthcare, commerce and trade arrangements. He also has experience with crisis management and in-depth research at government agencies.

The White House has not yet responded to the reporting. Cipollone also refrains from commenting for the time being.
