Trump defends statement 'Mission accomplished'

washington - US President Donald Trump last Sunday defended his use of the term 'Mission accomplished' after the rocket attacks on Syrian targets. A number of media criticized his statement.

The term is associated with former President George W. Bush who used it in 2003. Bush then announced that major combat operations in Iraq were over. That later turned out to be a major miscalculation. The violence erupted again with great intensity.
