united states - Former President Donald Trump targets paper straws, signaling a return to plastic usage in the latest move against Biden's environmental policies.

Trump's Critique on Paper Straws

Former President Donald Trump continues his battle against Biden's decisions, this time focusing on environmentally friendly paper straws. Trump stated that the era of 'No to plastic straws, only paper!' decision by 'Fraud (former President) Joe' is over. He emphasized that now people can enjoy their drinks without the disgust of paper straws melting in their mouths. Trump also announced that he will sign an executive order to invalidate Biden's 'paper straw' decision with the statement 'We are returning to plastic.'

Background on Paris Climate Agreement

Trump, who took office for the first time on January 20, 2017, withdrew the US from the agreement adopted in 2015. Following his defeat in the second presidential election, Joe Biden, who took office as the new president of the US on January 20, 2021, re-engaged the US in the agreement with an executive order signed on his first day in office. The United Nations Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric announced on January 28 that the US officially communicated its withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
