united states - US President-elect Donald Trump stated that he may grant TikTok an additional 90 days to comply with the relevant law before facing a ban.

Trump's Decision on TikTok

US President-elect Donald Trump revealed on NBC News that he is contemplating a 90-day extension for TikTok to comply with the law or face closure in the US unless it is sold to an American company.

Trump mentioned, 'A 90-day extension is likely, and I believe it's an appropriate step.' He also added that he might announce this decision on January 20, the day he takes office.

Background:

The US Supreme Court has approved the enforcement of a law that would ban TikTok in the US if not sold. The court stated, 'Congress determined that the transfer of TikTok is necessary to address national security concerns related to its data collection practices and relationship with a foreign adversary.'

According to the unanimously approved ruling, if TikTok is not sold by the effective date of January 19, the app will be removed from platforms like Google and Apple, and users will be restricted from downloading the app on devices after that date.
