Trump and Harris Prepare Legal Teams for After the Elections

amsterdam - Both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris have assembled teams of lawyers in preparation for the upcoming elections in 2024.

The upcoming 2024 elections in the United States are expected to be the most legally disputed in history. Both parties have been assembling teams of lawyers in every state to be able to respond to all possible scenarios post-election.

"Team Trump" is led by veteran Gineen Bresso heading the Republicans' 'election integrity team', while David Warrington has been appointed as the chief counsel of the campaign team. Warrington, a Washington-based lawyer, also represented Donald Trump in the House of Representatives' investigation into the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.

After the 2020 elections, it was the Republicans who filed numerous lawsuits in an attempt to overturn the results. They tried everything from invalidating votes to challenging voting rules in court, all to no avail as Team Trump lost almost all of the sixty-plus lawsuits they filed.

Now, they want to be better prepared. The Republicans have hired five thousand lawyers to monitor the elections. They also aim to hinder those likely to vote for Kamala Harris before the elections take place by combatting mail-in voting, challenging the validity of overseas votes, and attempting to prevent voters in predominantly Democratic districts from being listed on the voting rolls.

On the Democratic side, Dana Remus, who previously led Joe Biden's legal team in the last elections, is once again leading the legal efforts. Kamala Harris's party has a team of lawyers ready in all key states to tackle any potential challenges.

"Preparation, preparation, preparation," Remus explained when asked about their strategy for the upcoming elections. "They started earlier, so we did too. Since 2020, we have never stopped preparing." 400 lawyers are ready to step in immediately post-election in case of issues, and 500 arguments have been prepared in advance for any possible objections the Republicans may raise regarding the election procedures and results.

"Trump tried in 2020, and we were prepared," stated Pat Moore, an advisor to Harris. "We expect him to try again in 2024, and we will be even more prepared this time. We know the objections they will raise, and we have literally thousands of draft responses ready for that moment. Is this normal? No, it's not normal. Trump is not normal, but he is predictable."

The Democrats are fairly confident that the upcoming elections will be fair, safe, and free, despite the likelihood of encountering challenges. "There's not much that keeps me up at night," said former Attorney General Eric Holder, who was involved in the selection of Tim Walz, Kamala Harris's running mate. "We saw that the 2020 elections were the safest in American history. And I don't see any reason to expect 2024 to be any different."

Nevertheless, the Democrats are prepared for anything. "Whether it's the Senate, the House, or the presidential elections, if the Republicans lose, they will claim cheating," said Marc Elias, a longtime Democratic election lawyer now tasked with possible recounts. "Trump will never admit defeat."
