bunnik - Train services between Utrecht Centraal and Driebergen-Zeist have resumed following the safe disposal of a WWII aircraft bomb in Bunnik.

Train services between Utrecht Centraal and Driebergen-Zeist have resumed after the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Defence unit safely removed the detonator from the aircraft bomb, as reported by the municipality of Bunnik. The bomb is now being transported to the military training ground at Leusderheide, where it will be detonated. A part of Bunnik was under emergency restrictions, which have since been lifted. Residents of the evacuation area are allowed to return home.

The British 500-pound bomb was discovered earlier this year during construction work at the site of Houthandel van Dam.
