ouro preto - Six rescuers lost their lives in a helicopter crash while en route to a crashed plane in southeastern Brazil.

In a tragic incident, six rescuers lost their lives in a helicopter crash in southeastern Brazil while on their way to a crashed plane. The victims include four firefighters, a doctor, and a nurse. The helicopter went down in mountains near the town of Ouro Preto, approximately 270 kilometers north of Rio de Janeiro.

After a twelve-hour search operation, the wreckage of the helicopter was located on a mountain near where the wreckage of the crashed single-engine plane is situated, as reported by local media. The single-engine plane had only the pilot on board and crashed on Friday afternoon, resulting in the pilot's fatality.

The cause of both accidents is yet to be determined. The governor of Minas Gerais expressed grief over the loss of the six rescuers 'who lost their lives in an accident while performing their noble rescue mission.'
