- There are reports of black snow from various Siberian cities. The snow is most likely discolored by the coal-fired power stations in the area.
It is not the first time that dark snow falls in the country. 'There is a lot of carbon in the air and it only becomes visible when it is snowing,' says Vladimir Slivyak from environmental organization Ecodefense to The Guardian.
There are a lot of toxic substances in carbon. Residents of the cities covered by a black blanket of snow are more likely to watch cancer or tuberculosis.
