Tom Petty (66) passed away

- Tom Petty died at the age of 66. He has been taken to the hospital of the respiratory system. His neighbors decided to do that because no brain activity was observed.

The 66-year-old singer was found in his house in Malibu. He would have had a cardiac arrest. At the hospital in Santa Monica, the singer would be on the breath.

Tom Petty broke through in the seventies with his band The Heartbreakers. The group had hits with Breakdown and Mary Jane's Last Dance.

The Petty family had meanwhile decided that he could not get more animated, TMZ said. The expectation is that he does not live much longer, but that he is still alive at this time. There would be a pastor visiting Petty and his family on Monday morning local time.
