Tinder easy to crack with phone number

- With just one phone number the Tinder account of someone else's users. It was possible for a short time thanks to a leak that was discovered by security researcher Anand Prakash. With the hack it was possible to view the profile of someone else, to read all chat messages and to swipe.

The researcher from company Appsecure discovered the error that has to do with the way Tinder connects with Facebook, the so-called Account Kit. Tinder did not check whether the user really belonged to the given phone number.

Prakash was able to access another person's Tinder account within seconds. He calls the hack 'fairly easy'.

The leak has since been closed by both Facebook and Tinder. Facebook gave Prakash a $ 5000 reward, Tinder gave him another $ 1250 extra.
