Thousands of winter sports enthusiasts stranded in Zermatt

- Thousands of winter sports enthusiasts have been stranded for the second time this year in the Swiss ski resort of Zermatt. Surrounding roads and the railway are closed due to avalanche danger. People can not leave the resort.

There is about two meters of snow in the village. For the time being, the problems seem to persist for some time. Sunday night is going to snow again, is the forecast. On 10 January, thousands of people were also stuck in Zermatt due to heavy snowfall.
