- The rise and fall of Abercrombie & Fitch, a once-popular fashion brand, is examined with revelations of discrimination and exploitation of models.

In the mid-2000s, Abercrombie & Fitch (A&F) was a prominent brand known for its preppy clothing and attractive male models. However, the brand's controversial past is coming to light with accusations of discrimination and exploitation.

CEO Mike Jeffries was the mastermind behind A&F's transformation from a hunting apparel chain to an edgy fashion brand. However, his time at the helm was marred by allegations of discrimination, particularly favoring white, handsome, and muscular individuals for employment.

A two-year investigation by the BBC uncovered a network surrounding Jeffries and his partner Matthew Smith, involving the exploitation and abuse of models recruited for sex parties in luxurious locations across Europe and North Africa.

Testimonies revealed how models were lured under false pretenses, with promises of career advancements, only to be manipulated into compromising situations. The investigation also highlighted the role of fixers who arranged these events and the secrecy surrounding the activities.

Confronted with these allegations, the former CEO and his partner have remained silent, while their legal representatives deny any wrongdoing. The current management of A&F expressed shock and dismay at the revelations.

As the scandal unfolds, it appears to mark the end of Jeffries' leadership at Abercrombie & Fitch, once a symbol of youth culture and fashion.
