usa - A recent study highlights the negative effects of spending too much time scrolling on the toilet, particularly for individuals with hemorrhoids.

A new study warns against the dangers of spending too much time scrolling on the toilet, especially for individuals suffering from hemorrhoids or who have had them in the past. Gastroenterologist David Schwarzbaum emphasizes the negative impact of prolonged toilet sitting on blood flow and pressure in the anus, which can exacerbate the risk of hemorrhoids.

Schwarzbaum recommends following his '10 to 15-minute rule' to reduce the risk of developing hemorrhoids. He suggests limiting toilet time to a maximum of 10 to 15 minutes and advises individuals to avoid extended sitting on the toilet seat if they wish to read or browse. This advice aligns with previous findings by Belgian researchers who advocate for shorter toilet visits to combat hemorrhoids.

While there is no conclusive evidence that prolonged scrolling on the toilet poses a risk for individuals without a history of hemorrhoids, experts emphasize the importance of being mindful of toilet habits to maintain good health.
