koh phi phi island, thailand - Thai police used a cart to transport two intoxicated tourists safely back to their hostel on Koh Phi Phi Island in Thailand.

Two tourists, a 23-year-old German named Sina Baumann and a 19-year-old Australian named Tahli Benson, became so drunk on the Thai party island of Koh Phi Phi on November 29 that they could barely stand or talk. Concerned about their safety, Thai police officer Saneh Jualaong took action to prevent any potential harm to the intoxicated girls. Borrowing a cart from a nearby store, he placed the drunk tourists inside and rolled them back to the hostel where they were staying, as reported by the British newspaper Daily Mail.

According to Metro, friends of the pair tried unsuccessfully to wake them up multiple times. Social media is flooded with images of the German and Australian tourists sitting slumped in the cart. Jualaong took extra care while transporting them to ensure they wouldn't fall out of the trolley. Upon reaching the hostel, their friends helped them onto their bunk beds. The officer even tucked one of them in. The hotel owner expressed gratitude to the officer for safely bringing his guests back home.

"I know what it's like to have a daughter and how much we worry about them. I thought of their parents back home," Jualaong stated to Daily Mail regarding his kind act. "They were both too drunk to talk or stand. In that state, an accident could easily have occurred."

Police Colonel Surasak Jaidee explained the reason behind using a cart to transport the tourists. "All routes on Koh Phi Phi are only accessible by foot, so we couldn't use a car. We couldn't transport the drunk tourists on a scooter either, hence the cart was the only option." Jaidee emphasized that this is not the first time the police have come to the aid of intoxicated tourists. To prevent accidents and other incidents, the police frequently intervene as tourists on the island often get highly intoxicated. "We understand they come to have fun. We don't want to punish them, so it's better that we are there to help and protect them," Jaidee stated.
