chiang rai - The evacuation of the boys from the cave system is a race against the clock and so the boys who can cope with it must leave the cave as soon as possible. That says governor Passakorn Boonyarat of Chiang Rai province. He does not want to speculate about how long the boys may have to stay in the cave.

Large rainfall is expected within a few days.

Experts still doubt the way in which the boys have to come out. The teenagers can not swim and dive, which is necessary in the cave that is partially filled with water, you do not just learn. The risk of children being panicked or having an accident is great.

If diving seems impossible, then maybe a hole can be drilled in the cave, says the governor. The other option is that the football team has to wait for months until the rainy season is over and the water has dropped.

The huge rescue operation has been dominating the news in Thailand for days. Experts from among others the US, Great Britain and Japan also help. The heavy rainfall made the operation difficult. The water level decreased in recent days thanks to the use of pumps.

The teenagers aged 11-16 years and their trainer (25) disappeared on 23 June during a visit to the cave complex. They were found alive after nine days.
