- Nidhi Chaphekar stewardess who was seriously wounded in the terrorist attack in Zaventem, is at home with her family. She took a Thursday flight from Paris to her hometown Mumbai (India) and could finally close her children in her arms after a half months. The woman became known after going over a photo of her, just after the attack, the whole world. 'It's the picture that saved my life.'

Quot; I am so glad that I can go home! To the children. For weeks, my husband told them a story. I was burned 'a bit' and I could not get on the phone , Chaphekar told Het Laatste Nieuws on leaving the hospital.

The photo on which the 42-year-old Chaphekar state, the world went round and is printed on dozens of front pages of newspapers. The Telegraph published the picture. The photo shows a badly injured Chaphekar which, sitting on a bench at the airport, terrified look into the lens. Her blouse was torn and her face covered in blood and dust. The stewardess was conscious March 22, 2016 with a colleague of Jet Airways in the departure hall of the airport when the first bomb went off. They tried to flee but were eventually hit by the second bomb.

In the hospital showed the stewardess so bad state that she was kept in a coma for 22 days. She woke up in a burn center with her husband beside her. Chaphekar had many burns, fractures and a nail behind her eye. Chaphekar is very pleased with her doctors and nurses. They all come to say goodbye to the woman. Quot; Some were very emotional and crying. I promised to come back one day. Quot; The woman is happy that the further recovery can happen at home with her husband and children.

About the photo Chaphekar says it saved her life. 'Countless people I do not know, have been trying to reach me and to leave me courage. That gave me strength. Quot;
