Terror Level police stations Brussels Up

World December 29, 2015 07:56

brussels - The Ministry of Interior has the terror level for police offices in Brussels increased from two to three. That is the second highest level. The reason for this decision are new, concrete evidence of an attack in and around the head commissioner of police on the Grote Markt in Brussels, Het Nieuwsblad writes Tuesday.

According to the newspaper, there is now even stricter surveillance and opening hours for the police stations adjusted. In the rest of Belgium gold at police stations in recent months all three levels. The increased threat level would apply to the military on the streets. What consequences this has for them is not clear.

The measure applies at least until next Monday, so until after the New Year. On the Grand Place every year thousands of people gather to celebrate old and new.

Interior in Belgium will not say much on the measure. What is clear is that the specific threat in the city is not directly linked with the earlier attacks in Paris.
