Terror Alarm at Larnaca Airport

Southern Cyprus, Larnaca Airport, faced a terror alarm causing flight disruptions. The incident, triggered by a suspicious passenger from a flight originating from Moldova, led to a temporary halt in flights.

Security measures were immediately implemented, redirecting incoming flights to Baf city airport for further inspection. Authorities confirmed that the situation was not related to a hijacking attempt but rather a suspected individual triggering a terror alert.

Southern Cyprus Justice Minister Marios Hartsiotis assured the public that the police swiftly handled the situation, interrogating the passenger in question. Following thorough investigations and the statement from the suspected passenger, flights at Larnaca Airport resumed approximately 5 hours after the initial alarm.
