russia, ukraine - Russia and Ukraine exchange attacks as tensions escalate along the border. Multiple drones intercepted and destroyed.

Russia and Ukraine Exchange Attacks

Russia announces the interception and destruction of 121 drones following a large-scale unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack by Ukraine. Meanwhile, Ukraine reports striking a petroleum refinery in Ryazan and a microelectronics factory in Bryansk. The conflict, ongoing since February 2022, sees Ukraine launching a widespread UAV attack on Russian territories. The Russian Defense Ministry states that their air defense systems thwarted the UAV assault, with 121 drones brought down in 13 regions, including Moscow. Further details on the damage caused by the downed drones were not provided. In response, Ukraine's Andriy Kovalenko confirms hitting the petroleum refinery and microelectronics factory in Ryazan and Bryansk, respectively. Social media footage shows flames and heavy smoke rising from the facilities. Production at the 'Kremniy' facility has halted due to the UAV attack.

Reciprocal Strikes and Seizures

Ukrainian Air Force claims to have repelled a Russian UAV attack, downing 25 of the 58 launched. The Ministry of Internal Affairs in Ukraine reports three fatalities and one injury in Kiev due to parts of a downed UAV. Additionally, the Russian Defence Ministry asserts capturing nine settlements in the Harkiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions within the past week. Notably, since the war's inception, the Ukrainian military has lost significant numbers of aircraft, drones, tanks, artillery, and armored vehicles, with specific losses detailed, including casualties in the Kursk region.
