According to NSF, the two maintenance operations were carried out on the fire prevention system. Exactly what went wrong is being investigated. A helicopter pilot saw smoke coming out of the building and landed at the property. The pilot found the two technicians unconscious and started in vain with resuscitation.

One of the two was declared dead on the spot. The other died in the hospital.
