amsterdam - A teacher has decided to donate one of her kidneys to a 10-year-old student from her school.

48-year-old Tanya Thomas heard that Eva Evans from group four would soon die if she did not get a new kidney.

Last fall Eva was able to visit the school in Reynoldsburg Ohio less often due to her weaker health.

A call on Facebook made Thomas decide to register as a possible donor. And after months of research she proved the perfect match. Later this summer, the transplant will take place in a children's hospital in Columbus.

Tanya had already seen several steps in her church, so she knows what she is getting into.

'I never doubted,' says the mother of two in the New York Post. 'It felt like this door was open to me'.

Doctors have still not discovered why the two kidneys of Eva gave it so shortly after each other. She probably has a spontaneous gene mutation that causes everything to go wrong in her body.

Eva has to dialysis ten hours a day to stay alive. The mother of the girl is in seventh heaven with the offer of the teacher. 'She is an angel on earth,' she says.

The girl will put the whole process on YouTube to inspire other possible donors. 'At least I get the DNA of a teacher in me. Later, that also wants to do, and become a very good one! '
