'Taxi driver confesses murder of British Rebecca (30)'

- The Lebanese police detained a taxi driver in connection with the murder of 30-year-old British woman Rebecca Dykes. That is what Lebanese media report.

According to the National News Agency in Lebanon, the man has known that he has killed the diplomat. The driver, who is called Tareq H., would have picked her up on Friday evening after a party with his taxi. What exactly happened then is not yet clear.

The 30-year-old woman was found dead Saturday by road in the Lebanese capital Beirut. She would have been abused for her death. According to the Lebanese police, she is strangled.

The police tracked the suspect after looking at camera images of the road.

Since 2010 Dykes worked for the British government, until recently at the embassy in Lebanon. She came from Manchester.
