Tallest tree in the world is 89.5 meters

- In the rainforests of Malaysia is reportedly the tallest tree ever measured. It is a yellow meranti of 89.5 meters high. The tree in the jungle in the Maliau basin, a nature reserve in the northeast of the island of Borneo.

Britain's University of Cambridge made the discovery known. The tree is about one meter higher than the tallest tree to date. Which is near the city of Tawau, also in the Malaysian part of Borneo.
