Taliban blow up school in Pakistan

- Taliban fighters have blown up Friday a portion of a school in southern Pakistan. No one was killed in the attack, but eighteen workers were abducted and briefly detained, said a spokesman for the Taliban.

The newly built school in South Waziristan, a tribal region where the Taliban have a strong presence, was a project of the government. According to local officials hit especially the wing where girls would follow damaged education.

The Taliban spokesman said the workers were released not long after their abduction.,, We have blown up the school because it was a government building. '
