damascus - Syria's interim Prime Minister Mohammed al-Bashir urges Syrian refugees to come back, highlighting the country's regained pride and dignity.

Syria's interim Prime Minister, Mohammed al-Bashir, expressed his desire to see all Syrian refugees return to Syria in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere delle Sera.

He appeals to 'all Syrians abroad: Syria is now a free country that has regained its pride and dignity. Come back.' He assures that 'the rights of all people and all religions in Syria' will be guaranteed.

Al-Bashir states that he wants to see the millions of Syrian refugees return, protect all citizens, and provide basic necessities, but acknowledges the challenges due to the lack of foreign currency in the country's treasury.

'The treasury holds only Syrian pounds that are of little to no value. For one US dollar, you can buy 35,000 of our coins. We have no foreign currency, and there is a lot of uncertainty regarding loans and bonds. So yes, financially we are in a very bad situation.'

Al-Bashir did not respond to questions about Israel, Hezbollah, and Iran, as reported by the Corriere.

Bashir led the rebel-led government in a small area in northwestern Syria before a 12-day lightning rebel offensive toppled Bashar al-Assad's regime.
