Syrian Leader Holds Positive Meeting with YPG Delegates, Official Claims

According to an unnamed Syrian official speaking to the French News Agency (AFP), Eshara had 'positive' discussions with PKK/YPG delegates. The official added that the meeting was considered a 'preliminary gathering for future dialogue,' with both sides agreeing to further discussions. Eshara, in a recent statement to Al Arabiya Television over the weekend, emphasized the need for the integration of the PKK/YPG forces into the new Syrian military, stating, 'Weapons should only be in the hands of the state. We will welcome anyone armed and qualified to join the Ministry of Defense.'
