evry - The 32-year-old suspect accused of throwing stones at homeless people will remain in custody in France for the time being. An investigating judge decided on Friday that he will remain in pre-trial detention, the French Public Prosecutor's Office announced on Saturday.

The man from Cameroon was arrested earlier this week in Toulon. He is suspected of killing a homeless Moldavian in Lyon with a heavy stone and attempting multiple murders with a similar modus operandi in Rotterdam, Évry, Strasbourg, and Dijon.

Earlier this month, a sleeping man near the Maritime Museum in Rotterdam was hit on the head with a paving stone, leaving him in a coma. The perpetrator was captured on camera during this incident.

The authorities are investigating the suspect's involvement in these different cases. DNA analysis has reportedly linked him to the case in Évry, near Paris, where a homeless man in his fifties was found with head injuries in October.
