The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department revealed that it was the first case in the U.S. involving the use of ChatGPT to build an explosive device. Sheriff Kevin McMahill stated, 'We have clear evidence that the suspect utilized ChatGPT as artificial intelligence to plan his attack.' ChatGPT's creator, OpenAI, emphasized their commitment to responsible AI use, with models designed to reject harmful instructions. The company clarified that ChatGPT had warned against illegal activities based on publicly available internet data.
