new york - Dozens of supporters show up at the New York courthouse to express solidarity with Luigi Mangione, who shot insurance executive Brian Thompson.

Supporters Show Solidarity for Luigi Mangione

Dozens of sympathizers gather outside the Manhattan courthouse to support Luigi Mangione, the man accused of shooting insurance executive Brian Thompson. The supporters had gathered with posters and chants to express their backing for Mangione. A group of young women, dressed in a specific attire resembling Mangione's previous court appearance, gathered on the fifteenth floor of the courthouse.

Despite Mangione's cold-blooded act of shooting someone on the street, he has gained a hero status among many Americans due to the identity of his victim, Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare. This incident has sparked a deep-seated resentment towards the American health insurance system, known for burdening people with high costs. The December 4 Legal Committee (D4LC) initiated a fundraiser that collected over $540,000 to cover Mangione's legal expenses.

The 26-year-old Mangione, facing 21 charges including murder and terrorism, is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, where he claims to receive substantial support from the outside world. Mangione expresses gratitude for the overwhelming support he has received through letters and messages from across the country and around the globe. He maintains his innocence to all charges.
