Submarine maker Madsen wants lower punishment

copenhagen - The lawyer of the Danish inventor Peter Madsen sentenced to life imprisonment has requested a lower sentence in appeal. Madsen was given a life sentence for killing and maiming journalist Kim Wall aboard his home-built submarine.

Madsen took the journalist in August 2017 in his submarine. The authorities later found her body parts back in the water. The Danish judge ruled earlier this year that there is clear evidence that the inventor first tortured and subsequently killed his victim.
