A 27-year-old Chinese student living in Japan was rescued by a helicopter after losing his crampons while climbing Mount Fuji outside the official climbing season.

First Rescue and Equipment Loss

The man, stranded without crampons, essential for descending the mountain safely, was rescued on Tuesday. Four days later, he was found unwell, the same man who had been rescued earlier. He had gone back up the mountain against police advice to search for his lost phone.

Mount Fuji Dangers and Recent News

Mount Fuji, Japan's highest peak and an active volcano, poses risks when climbed off-season due to snow and poor conditions. The official climbing season is from early July to early September. The recent government guidelines on volcanic eruption preparedness have raised awareness.
