london - Keir Starmer works to maintain unity between the United States and Europe amidst tensions over Ukraine.

Keir Starmer's Efforts for Transatlantic Unity

European countries express concern as the US envoy for Ukraine and Russia stated Europe would not have a seat at the table in peace talks over Ukraine at the Munich Security Conference. US officials are set to hold discussions with Russian and Ukrainian negotiators in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, France is convening an informal summit of European leaders to address the Ukraine situation, with Starmer expected to attend in Paris. Starmer emphasized the need for Europe to play a larger role in NATO while collaborating with the US to secure Ukraine's future and address the Russian threat.

Starmer stressed the UK's commitment to keeping the US and Europe united, highlighting the importance of solidarity within the alliance in the face of external threats. Starmer plans to discuss European leaders' viewpoints on Ukraine during his visit to Washington to meet with President Trump in the coming weeks.

Amid efforts to strengthen ties with the EU, which the UK left five years ago, Starmer faces diplomatic challenges as Trump simultaneously threatens the bloc with tariffs.
