Spain rolls up huge drug gang

madrid - The Spanish police have rolled up a large gang of drug smugglers. Certainly 43 people have been arrested and about 5000 kilos of drugs have been intercepted. Detectives have seized 15 million euros worth of stuff. At least 139 bank accounts have been frozen. It is called 'one of the most powerful drug organizations in the world'.

Last year 616 kilos of cocaine from the gang was found in the vicinity of The Hague. It is not known whether people were arrested in the Netherlands.

The organization used a shipyard in the northwest of Spain as a cover to get the drugs on land without being seen. The gang also had all kinds of companies to launder the drug money.
