Son politician Pakistan freed in Afghanistan

- Afghan and US forces, the son of a former Pakistani prime minister freed who was kidnapped in Pakistan three years ago. This was announced by the Pakistani government Tuesday.

Ali Haider Gilani, the son of former Prime Minister Yusuf Gilani. He was released in the Afghan province of Ghazni.

Ali Haider was kidnapped two days before Pakistan's parliamentary elections in May 2013 in his hometown of Multan, in the southern Pakistani province of Punjab. According to his father's kidnappers demanded the release of imprisoned members of al Qaeda.
