These so-called aneurysms will soon be tested in the UMC Utrecht and four other Dutch and 15 German hospitals with a combination of aspirin and blood pressure lowers. In our country, about 1200 to 1500 people get a cerebral hemorrhage by opening a blood vessel. One in three patients dies within three months.
A brain canal can only be treated preventively by means of a neurosurgery, called clipping. Via the skull, a clamp is placed on the weakened blood vessel.
