Skype founders make delivery drone

- Two of the founders of the successful Internet calling service Skype have found a new challenge. Ahti Heinla and Janus Friis have designed a drone with which goods can be delivered. Unique : the drone does not fly, but runs.

The device of the new company, Starship Technologies, can provide " two bags of groceries. In practice this is about 10 kg. The idea is to supply a radius of 5-30 minutes to do.

According to the makers, the drone '99 percent ' autonomous. There will probably watch a human being and make adjustments as necessary as it gets confused. The goods themselves to pick only the drone by the person who ordered it. This is done via a connection with the mobile telephone of this person.

In 2016 the company will carry out trials in Britain and the United States in conjunction with another unnamed member companies.
