freetown - Sierra Leone is investigating media reports, including from De Telegraaf, regarding the convicted drug lord Jos Leijdekkers attending a church service in the country.

Sierra Leone Investigates Media Reports on 'Bolle Jos'

The Ministry of Information confirmed the investigation into the presence of the fugitive Dutchman, Jos Leijdekkers, in the West African country. Leijdekkers was seen in footage at a church service attended by President Julius Maada Bio.

The ministry stated its willingness to cooperate with the Dutch police and Interpol but extradition remains uncertain. Leijdekkers, also known as 'Bolle Jos,' escaped from Turkey previously and is the country's most wanted criminal with a 24-year drug-related conviction.

In the video, Leijdekkers is seen at a crowded church service on New Year's Day, sitting just two rows behind the president. The ministry claimed the president was unaware of Leijdekkers' identity and any reported issues related to him.
