shot Environment Minister in Burundi

nairobi - In Burundi, the Environment Minister Emmanuel Niyonkuru (54) Sunday shot. He was, according to the police in the capital, Bujumbura, on the way home under attack by an unknown gunman. A woman who accompanied the minister has been detained for questioning.

It is the first political assassination in Burundi in nearly two years. President Pierre Nkurunziza expressed his horror at the attack on a member of his government. Since early 2015, he decided to pursue a third term, the violent protests in the African country has increased enormously. Certainly 450 people have been killed during clashes between demonstrators and security forces.
