birmingham - At least 4 people have been killed and 21 others injured in a shooting incident in Birmingham, Alabama.

At a shooting incident in Birmingham, Alabama, at least 4 people have been killed and 21 others injured.

"Multiple shooters fired multiple shots at a group of people," police said. The shooting occurred around 23:00 local time in Five Points South, a bustling nightlife area full of nightclubs and bars.

The bodies of two men and one woman were found lifeless, while the fourth victim reportedly died in the hospital. The 21 injured were taken to the hospital, with at least 4 of them sustaining life-threatening injuries.

Police are still searching for the shooters. "Rest assured, we will do everything we can to identify and locate those responsible," said police chief Truman Fitzgerald.

The circumstances of the shooting are being fully investigated. It is unknown whether the shooters were among the group of people when the shots were fired or if they, for example, opened fire while passing by in a vehicle.
