outside - In the Maashorst nature reserve near Uden, five wisent calves were born in early May and early June. These are the first wisens born in this Brabant nature reserve. The wisens were deployed in March 2016. With the calves there are now fifteen wisens. That says Nature Today Sunday.

The wisent is the largest mammal in Europe. By hunting the wisent, also known as the European bison, disappeared in the wild in 1927, leaving only 54 animals in captivity. In the Kraansvlak, a traditionally closed public park near Kennemerduinen, since april 2007, wisens have lived. Here at the end of May two wisens were born.

Also on the Veluwe are the great grazers to be found. There are three wizards. There are around 6000 wisens worldwide, most of whom live in Eastern Europe.

At the crane level, the animals can be seen from a viewing point. Since 2007, about twenty calves have been born in this area. The animals prevent the crane level from growing close. Also, their burial for a varied landscape.
