Scottish island for sale

edinburgh - For the price of a small apartment in Amsterdam you can buy an entire island off the coast of Scotland.

Vaila Sound is on offer: an island of about 26 hectares, 'close to' the mainland and with its own lake in the middle. No people have lived there since 1934.

It is part of the Shetland Islands, all the way north of England. Interested parties can make an offer. The starting price is 280,000 euros, according to 'Vladi Private Islands', a real estate website for islands.
