Sarkozy must be on trial for fraud

paris - The French former president Nicolas Sarkozy will have to stand trial before the court for shameful with his campaign in 2012. A court in Paris dismissed Sarkozy's appeal to prevent a lawsuit Thursday.

It concerns the so-called Bygmalion affair. Sarkozy's campaign staff would have kept double bookkeeping and paid fictional bills to event agency Bygmalion to reduce the cost of the campaign on paper. Sarkozy maintains that he knew nothing about the shadow accounting.
